Birthdays are the most important dates in our lives. Why? Because birthdays signify the day we came into this world. We typically celebrate our birthdays with cake and gifts. One thing about our birthday’s that should be unique is our invitations. With the right wording and look, your invite isn’t something that will be soon forgotten by the people you invite. You want to word your invitations by numerous factors such as age (18 years old obviously), the theme of party and personal taste. Choose a theme you can be happy with and will look pleasing to the guests.

For example, if you love poetry then write a poem on the invitations – either one you made up yourself or from a famous poet your guests will recognize. You shouldn’t write an entire story on the invitation – because in most cases you can’t. Keep the poem simple but make it grabs your guests attention.
If you really want to get creative, you can personalize each invitation. Obviously, this will take some time but surely worth the effort.

You can choose the different style text and background images to really make your invitations “pop.” An example would be applying a picture of you and the guest together in a picture. This shows how much you mean to that specific person. How can someone decline an invitation that has such a heart-warming picture on it?

What about putting your horoscope on the birthday invitation? People generally love reading horoscopes and maybe if they will read yours they will get a better understanding why you act the way you do (kidding).
Being eighteen officially means you are considered an adult in the American government – which means you are officially allowed to vote. Since, in the eyes of the government, you are an official adult then it is time to purchase adult theme invitations.

Eighteen is special not because you can finally vote and buy cigarettes 9which is not encouraged) but because it is potentially the last birthday you will spend with the family at home. Many students go off to college the following year and will be away fro their birthday. Therefore, a special eighteenth birthday party should be considered. You should consider spending your birthday at home will close friends and family and really “party it up” the old fashion way.

A scrapbook of the eighteenth birthday party is also an excellent idea. Why? Well, because each guest can right down a special memory they had with the birthday boy or girl. We all had year books when we were in school and before the last day of school we passed them around so people can write something in it, the same principles are applied to the scrapbook. Have your guests sign the book and let them know to write “Good luck” “Best Wishes” or a funny joke or short story.

The most important thing to remember when working on the invitation is to have fun with the invitation process. Don’t take it too seriously and be as creative as possible.
